Mrs. Vasuki Suthahar
Principal
It is with great pride and a profound sense of purpose that Hindu College Colombo announces the appointment of Mrs. Vasuki Suthahar as Principal. As a landmark institution with a storied legacy of academic and cultural excellence, we are honoured to welcome a leader whose distinguished career reflects the very values our school has championed for decades.
Originally from Ilavalai, Jaffna, Mrs. Vasuki Suthahar’s educational journey began at Ilavalai Convent and Hindu Ladies’ College during her senior schooling. She holds a Bachelor of Education (Science) from the National Institute of Education, a Master of Education from the University of Jaffna, and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
Following a dedicated twelve-year tenure teaching Science at St. Xavier’s Girls’ College, Mannar, she was appointed to the Sri Lanka Education Administrative Service (SLEAS) in 2013.
Since then, she has served with distinction as Deputy Director of Education, overseeing key portfolios in the Mannar, Madhu, Vavuniya North, and Vavuniya South Zonal Education Offices. Beyond her administrative expertise, Mrs. Vasuki Suthahar is deeply committed to community wellbeing. As an All-Island Justice of the Peace (JP) and a dedicated speaker on religious values, she embodies the holistic leadership style that defines Hindu College Colombo.
In her inaugural address, Mrs. Vasuki Suthahar emphasized her commitment to fostering a supportive environment where every student can excel - both in the classroom and on the sports field. Mrs. Suthahar is supported by her spouse, who serves in the Government Audit Office in Mannar, and is a proud mother of three children.
We look forward to a new era of growth and innovative learning under her guidance. Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Mrs. Suthakar as she leads Hindu College Colombo to new heights.
